Clinical guidance

Autoantibodies against C1q are a major criterion in the diagnosis of hypocomplementaemic urticarial vasculitis. They are also found in up to 50% of SLE patients and 95% of patients with lupus nephritis. C1q antibodies may be useful for assessing the risk of renal flares, and also for monitoring the effectiveness of immunosuppressive treatment in active lupus nephritis. https://sheffieldlaboratorymedicine.nhs.uk/search-test.php?search=2976&testname=C1Q%20Antibodies
