Clinical guidance

Phospholipase A2 receptor is the target autoantigen in idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN). Antibodies to PLA2r are found in up to 75% of patients with IMN naive to immunosuppression and can be used as a diagnostic marker for IMN. PLA2r antibodies are found to be high in active disease and low/normal in complete remission and can be used to monitor disease activity.
