Serum Please note Lithium Heparin samples are unsuitable for the measurement of Tissue Transglutaminase antibodies ( IgA and IgG)

Clinical guidance

Some indications: Coeliac Disease, Dermatitis, Herpetiformis

Notes

Patients with known or suspected IgA deficiency will have TTg IgG antibodies tested. In addition patients with suspected IgA deficiency will also have Immunoglobulins IgA, IgG and IgM levels measured in line with NICE guidelines All positive TTG results are confirmed by Endomysial antibody assay.
