Information for patients who have been advised they will be scheduled for surgery

We hope the information you find here will help you to understand the journey of before, during and after an operation.

Your journey for surgery

  1. You and your consultant have agreed to have surgery. You will be added to a waiting list.
  2. If you are due to stay in hospital after your surgery, you will receive a text message to complete a health questionnaire online.
  3. Your consultant's team will plan your surgery and book you for your pre-assessment appointment.
  4. Once pre-assessment have determined that you are fit for surgery, your consultant's team will give you a date for your surgery.
