Post-operative TKR arthroplasty patients will be referred to Musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy when discharged from hospital. We also accept referrals from our Outreach team. The target time-frame for these appointments range between two to three weeks post-surgery or earlier if required. These referrals are triaged, and patients will be deemed suitable for either one on one physiotherapy sessions, or booked into a physiotherapy led post-operative arthroplasty clinic in our gymnasiums.
These clinics are designed to deliver high quality assessments, guidance and rehabilitation by specialist MSK physiotherapists, ensuring all patients are achieving excellent outcomes post-operatively in a streamlined fashion.
We offer a range of physiotherapy treatments including, but not limited to, personalised exercise programmes, gym classes, hands on myofascial and joint mobilisation techniques, hydrotherapy, and CPM machines.
We pride ourselves on having excellent professional relationships with our Orthopaedic consultant colleagues and have efficient communication links to discuss patient cases if needed. We can refer patients back to the Arthroplasty service if a patient requires additional input and onward management.
