Teresa Melody, Research Nurse

Teresa MelodyResearch Nurse

Teresa is a nurse researcher with an extensive background in clinical research delivery. She thrives to develop strategies which enable efficient and effective integration of trials into clinical practice, in turn enhancing the patient’s care pathway.

Teresa is currently one of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) 70@70 senior research nurses, a prestigious national role awarded to only 70 nurses and midwives in the United Kingdom. She also currently holds an Honorary Associate Professorship at University of Warwick.

She currently manages a portfolio of research across the complex specialty of critical care, resuscitation and perioperative medicine and holds many co–applicant roles within many academic and NIHR-funded trials in these areas.

Teresa has a national profile for developing patient and public strategies in research and sits on many national advisory groups. Locally, she is founder and current chair of the Clinical Research Ambassador Group (CRAG), based at Heartlands Hospital.

She has an extensive publication and grant award portfolio and is keen to promote an inter-professional approach to research activity across University Hospitals Birmingham.
