Good Hope Hospital is pleased to announce a free health information session for residents, their families/carers, and foundation trust members.

Delivered in partnership with Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council, the session will focus on falls prevention and mobility and will take place on Wednesday 11 June from 1.30pm at The Trinity Centre.

Julie Hunter, Group Director for Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s) at UHB and Hospital Director for AHP’s at Good Hope Hospital, and Lorraine Garratty, Therapy Lead in Healthcare for Older People at Good Hope Hospital will give a talk and lead a Q & A session.

Attendees will gain valuable insights into ‘how to fall safely’ and what to do if it happens, along with advice on how to access local support. There will also be an opportunity to try GaitSmart ™, a motion-sensor, gait analysis tool, which offers personalised exercise plans to help improve mobility.

Cllr Yip, Mayor of the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield said: “This information session is a great opportunity for residents of our Royal Town and their family and friends to learn more about reducing falls and the services, support and activities that are available across Sutton Coldfield. Its aim is to keep our community healthier for longer, connected and well-informed.”

Julie Hunter added: “Our mission is to help local residents stay fit and healthy and avoid hospital visits where possible. We have a wealth of clinical expertise at Good Hope Hospital, and we are looking forward to sharing some practical tips and useful advice with our community.”

Parking is available on site and refreshments will be available.
