Conditions we can diagnose and manage
- Urticaria (hives) and angioedema (swelling)
- Food allergy
- Anaphylaxis
- Insect venom allergy (bee and wasp stings)
- Allergic rhinitis (hay fever and allergies to house dust mite, animals and other airborne allergens)
- Drug allergy
- Latex allergy
- Anaesthetic allergy (joint clinic with anaesthetists)
Conditions we do not routinely manage
Some conditions may appear similar to allergy but are not routinely managed within the Allergy Service. These include:
- Eczema (atopic dermatitis)
- Food intolerance
- Lactose intolerance
- Multiple chemical sensitivity
- Chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS)
- Contact dermatitis
If you or your child has one of these conditions, please speak to your GP, who can advise on the most appropriate service or specialist referral.
