The Community Diabetes service provides short-term specialist advice to adults registered with a Solihull GP to manage their diabetes.

The Insulin X-PERT Course for Type 2 Diabetes

Learn more about how to manage your, food, insulin and blood glucose levels in a relaxed, fun and hands on course.

  • There is plenty of opportunity to ask questions, as well as discussions to swap information and meet other people with diabetes.
  • The course runs for 2.5 hours a week over 6 weeks.

The remote DAFNE course for Type 1 Diabetes

  • Aims to help adults with type 1 diabetes lead as normal a life as possible, whilst also maintaining blood glucose levels within healthy targets.
  • Learn the skills necessary to count carbohydrate and adjust your dose of insulin accordingly.
  • Opportunity to spend time with others with Type 1 Diabetes and learn from each other’s experiences.
  • The course runs for ½ a day a week over 5 weeks.

Appointments with Diabetes Specialist Dietitians

The Diabetes Specialist Dietitian can provide advice on how diet and lifestyle can help to manage your Diabetes.

Appointments with Diabetes Specialist Nurse

Your practice may refer you for an appointment with one of our Diabetes Specialist Nurses if you require specialist support with your diabetes control or treatment.

Appointments with the Intermediate Clinic

At the Intermediate Clinic our GP with Specialist Interest in Diabetes (GPSI) or Diabetes Consultant can provide specialist support with your diabetes management.

Patients with pre-diabetes can register for the Healthier You: NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme.
