Transferring to us
Welcome to the Young Adult Endocrine Service (including Late Effects of Cancer Therapy) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
Moving to a new service can feel unfamiliar. This page explains what to expect, who you will meet and where to find further support.

- Do not smoke or vape. Keep alcohol within recommended limits. Support is available if you would like to stop smoking or reduce your alcohol intake.
- Check your breasts or testicles regularly. Contact your GP if you notice anything unusual or are worried.
- Use factor 50+ sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun.
- Look after your mental health. If you are experiencing anxiety, low mood or depression, talk to someone you trust and contact your GP for support.
- Protect your bone health through regular physical activity and a balanced diet that includes calcium, vitamin D and other essential nutrients.
- Contact the team if you need support with employment. We may be able to refer you to the QEHB Learning Hub.
