Rheumatology advice line

This number is for the rheumatology advice line, available during the hours 09:00 – 15:30, Monday to Friday. 

This is an answering service Please leave a clear message including: 

  • Your full name
  • Date of birth
  • Hospital or NHS Number, if available
  • A contact telephone number
  • A brief description of your query or concern 

A member of the rheumatology team will review your message and aim to respond within 48 hours. The help line is monitored Monday to Friday, 9.00am–3.30pm, excluding weekends and bank holidays. 

Please note, the helpline is not an emergency service, this service is for flare-ups, medication queries, and prescription-related concerns only.  

This is not an emergency service, in the event of an emergency please call 111 or 999 as appropriate.

BONE DENSITY SCANS (DEXA)

DEXA scans are booked via the main outpatient booking service after being approved by radiology.

For any queries, please contact either radiology on the above numbers or the main booking office.

Appointments for DEXA scans are not controlled by the rheumatology department.

Referrals for DEXA scans need to be made using the electronic radiology referral service.
