Remote care

Some cochlear implant manufacturers have made an application (app) that lets implant users run checks on the implant, and test their hearing, at home. To use these apps, you need the app installed on a compatible mobile device.

Benefits:

Saves time attending appointments

  • Save travel and parking costs
  • Keeps waiting lists down
  • You can do checks more regularly than would be offered by the hospital

    Cochlear

Cochlear Remote Check is compatible with Nucleus8 (N8) or Kanso2 processor with a compatible Apple (iOS) or Android device.

Remote Check will be discussed with new implant users at the 12 month review appointment.

Existing N8 or Kanso2 users will be sent remote check information when your face-to-face annual review appointment is due.

While you are doing the remote check activities, the Nucleus Smart App will collect data on how well your cochlear implant sound processor is working.

All of the information and data you submit via the Nucleus Smart App will be transferred securely to our clinic where one of the Audiologists will review your information and send you a summary report via the Nucleus Smart App.
