Sessional use – should be disposed of once removed
Can be either ear looped or occasionally tie backed
Can be of many different types but all type IIR – surgical fluid resistant
Handmade ear protectors are available for staff who having problems with the fit or ear soreness. Ear protectors should be laundered at 60°C every day at home
Manufacturers have ensured us that surgical mask use by dates have been extended. Surgical masks which have an expired use by date are safe to use providing they have not been damaged in any way
