    Dr Emma Derrett-Smith, Consultant Rheumatologist

    Qualified in London and trained in Rheumatology in the South-East. My clinical and research interest is scleroderma and related connective tissue diseases. I also work at the Royal Free Hospital Scleroderma Clinic.

    Trained at University of Birmingham. Special interests include prediction of outcome in early inflammatory synovitis, and using musculoskeletal ultrasound as a predictive tool in early arthritis and to guide invasive procedures.

    Received a BA, MA and a BMBCh from Oxford University and a PhD from the University of London in 1995. Her main interests are in arthritis particularly in young adults. She is an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Birmingham.
